A motion to approve the Agenda was made by Councilman Meek, Councilman Arnold 2nd. Motion passed.
CITY CLERK
Approve Minutes: September 21, 2019 (action item)
A motion to approve the September Minutes was made by Councilman Wells, Councilman Waters 2nd. Motion passed.
TREASURER’S REPORT
October Finance Report (action item)
A motion to approve the October Finances was made by Councilman Meek, Councilman Wells 2nd. Motion passed. Councilman Wells would like to see a balance after deposits are made and after expenses are deducted.
Mayor Davies discussed the error on the ballot. It says to vote for only two positions but there are three positions available. Brian has a call into Val at the county to see what can be done about being able to vote for the three positions.
Independence Day
Councilman Wells suggested holding the celebration on Independence Day rather than on the weekend. He had concerns about the large gathering and applying for a mass gathering permit along with police presence. There was discussion about the availability of the fireworks presenters. He’s also concerned about the liability of the city.
ROADS
The last three loads have been put on Escobla. There are still a few areas that need repaired. There was a question about the grader and being prepared for the winter.
HISTORICAL
The quilt that was raffled off has been delivered.
Most of the painting and oil has been done. There are some boards that need to be installed to protect from the snow. It has not been done to date. They will not get paid until the job is done.
IRRIGATION
Irrigation is shut off for the year. The lower pond needs to be drained. Mayor Davies would like to blow out the sprinklers. Next year should be an easier turn on.
There are some major expensive projects that must get done next spring. One of them is about $10,000.
There are still a few people that have not paid this year.
CEMETERY
City cemetery maps have been made. George Meek paid for them and will bring them down to city hall.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mayor Davies discussed the flag pole. The poles from Bill Sterling were already purchased by someone else.
Donna’s Place gave $150 to the fire department and the city to put towards pavement.
CONSTITUENT INPUT
George Butters discussed the pavement between the fire department and City Hall. A bill has not been received yet. Once it is in George will let the city know. He also discussed the radio antennae. It is here and may not be able to be installed now due to weather so it might be next spring. The hope is to have Verizon be able to piggyback off the antennae and be able to provide cell service. There is a bobtail tractor for sale from the fire department.
