Approve Minutes: November 18, 2017
A motion to approve the November 18, 2017 Minutes was made by Councilman Meek, Councilman Wells 2nd. Motion passed.
Elections-Approve results
A motion to approve the Election Results for Jim Wells and Clark Cassel, was made by Councilman Arnold, Councilman Meek 2nd. Motion passed.
TREASURER’S REPORT
December Finance Report
A motion to accept the December Finance Report was made by Councilman Chesnut, Councilman Wells 2nd. Motion passed.
Budget Line Item Report was presented to council
4th Quarter End of Year Report
A motion to approve the 4th Quarter End of Year Report was made by Councilman Wells, Councilman Arnold 2nd. Motion passed.
CITY WEBSITE
Council stated that a website would be a good tool for the city to get information out to constituents and others when they need information. Council also discussed ideas. The Mayor will look into further details in having Chance put together a site.
ROADS
The road grader has chains and is ready for the snow season. Gravel has been delivered. Mayor Davies cannot get a straight answer on the road crew for next year.
IRRIGATION
Mayor Davies brought up the discussion about raising irrigation fees. He wanted to know council’s concerns on the potential increase and potential issues that could arise. Pumps need rebuilt, siphons need replaced, excavation needs done, etc. There will be a meeting next month for constituents and feedback for irrigation.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
4th of July-Mayor Davies spoke with Shane about fireworks. He would like to stick with Fireworks America and suggested getting the date in earlier for possible discounts. Council discussed the date of the display. Independence Day is on a Wednesday this year. Council discussed options. They would like to get input from constituents and will make a decision at a later date.
Mayor Davies thanked the people who decorated the city and plaza for Christmas.
CONSTITUENT INPUT
Clark had some questions about the irrigation fee, wet lots, dry lots, and fire protection. Council discussed the capacity of the pond.
Bill Chesnut agreed to irrigation fees. He also discussed constituent input and made some suggestions for people who may be able to help out with the website. He also suggested the reading of the Declaration of Independence and read a portion of the document. Mr. Chesnut reminded people about taking the oath and reading the Constitution then also read a portion of the document.
