PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: Lead by Mayor Davies
APPROVE AGENDA: A motion to approve the agenda was made by Councilman Meek, Councilman Wells 2nd. Motion passed.
CITY CLERK
Approve Minutes: May 19, 2018 (action item)
A motion to approve the minutes was made by Councilman Wells, Councilman Arnold 2nd. Motion passed.
Building Permit-Steffensen (action item) Tabled at this time until documents and information have been received.
TREASURER’S REPORT
June Finance Report (action item)
A motion to approve the Finance Report was made by Councilman Wells, Councilman Cassel 2nd. Motion passed.
ROADS
Mayor Davies reported that he spoke to Bill Jones. He asked what the city needs to do so paving can be completed. Dust abatement will need to be completed. Mayor Davies would like to have it completed before July 4 celebrations. Council discussed the roads that will receive the abatement.
ROADS (cont)
A motion to approve dust abatement up for up to $2,500 was made by Councilman Arnold, Councilman Cassel 2nd. Motion passed.
Councilman Cassel discussed crowning the roads to help with water runoff.
HISTORICAL
Ice cream signs were made up for the Independence Day celebrations. Historical would like to add dust abatement in front of the museum. Parking in front of the museum should be discouraged so people can take pictures of the buildings.
Bonnie Wells, Jim Oswald, Ron Scholton have been appointed to the Historical Commission. A motion to accept the appointments was made by Councilman Wells, Councilman Meek 2nd. Motion passed.
The Commission is responsible for the contents of the museums and there is a process to go through if there are additions to the museum or removal of items from the museum.
IRRIGATION
Financial Update
Council discussed the past due accounts and the delinquent accounts.
A Public “Thank You” to Jim Wells, Tim Garrett, Tim Riley, Lance Larsen, Dan Hawkins, and Brian Davies for their work on the irrigation system.
Councilman Wells discussed the pumps and the new meter. There are still a few things to take care of but things are up and running. The small pond is full. Granite side is on without issues. Today water will be sent through the line that was moved and will be checked for leaks.
Lot issue (action item)
Council discussed the waterline that has been moved and what the next step and expectations will be. No decision was made.
Mayor Davies would like to Thank Dr. Kammer for agreeing to an easement on his property. Papers will be drawn up and will need signed.
CEMETERY
A plot has been designated but needs to be paid for.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
None at this time.
CONSTITUENT INPUT
A question was asked about the waterline.
There was a suggestion for putting up “Do Not Touch” signs in the museum
Volunteers are needed for pie donations and sales. Please see Jan Chesnut, Carla Meek, or Bonne Wells if you’d like to help on July 7.
