A motion to approve the agenda was made by Councilman Meek, Councilman Wells 2nd. Motion passed.
CITY CLERK
Approve Minutes: March 17, 2018
A motion to approve the minutes was made by Councilman Wells, Councilman Arnold 2nd. Motion passed.
TREASURER’S REPORT
April Finance Report- A motion to approve the Finance Report was made by Councilman Arnold, Councilman Cassel 2nd. Motion passed.
2nd Quarter Report
A motion to approve the 2nd Quarter Report was made by Councilman Wells, Councilman Meek 2nd. Motion passed.
Bank signers-Councilman Hicks’ signature has been removed from the checking account. Councilman Arnold has been assigned as an additional signer. A motion to approve Councilman Arnold as an additional signer was made by Councilman Wells, Councilman Meek 2nd. Motion passed.
ROADS
Mayor Davies went to IBS to have the city map redone. He presented the new cleaned up copy to council. Each council member will receive a new copy for their use. There is also a digital copy that was made.
Mayor Davies discussed options for the roads.
HISTORICAL
Councilman Arnold will put a sign in the museum window for volunteers to sign-up to help with the clean-up and being there when the museum is open. The volunteer sign-up sheet will be in the store.
Councilman Arnold would like to buy some paint and linseed oil to redo the building fronts, walkways, and restrooms.
IRRIGATION
Mayor Davies discussed the pump rebuilds and putting in a transformer.
Rex Berry, Boise River Water Master, will come up this spring to check the meter to make sure it meets the standards.
Councilman Wells did a survey of the pond. He’s waiting for the area to dry up so he can get the backhoe in and do some work. Council discussed getting an excavator in there and how much it might cost. Council discussed goals for the irrigation pond and the cost.
Mayor Davies would like to get going on the projects now that the weather is better.
Councilman Arnold spoke about Councilman Wells’ intent of not getting paid for his water position. A motion was made by Councilman Arnold to abide by Councilman Wells’ wishes, Councilman Cassel 2nd. Motion passed.
Councilman Wells spoke about issues regarding the irrigation system. There are some necessary checks to be done on the system to check for leaks. Some leaks will not be discovered until the system is up and running. There is a float valve that needs to be installed. There are some broken lines and such and that need repaired. Replacement of shut-off valves needs to be completed. There is a concern about the pipe under the dam.
Financial Update-Treasurer updated council on the current finances. $8,415 has come in. That includes a $100 donation. There is a balance of $2,035 left. Late notices will be sent out. There were a few questions about constituent letters and questions.
CEMETERY
The road is good enough to drive around on now.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
There was a question about the specific fees on the map so the fire department can possibly get one for them. Mr. Butters also discussed the smoke issues from the prescribed burns. The forest service will be burning six different areas that will be closer to the Placerville area. He’d like to make sure there is a crew on hand.
CONSTITUENT INPUT
There is a Cinco de Mayo celebration coming up. Watch for flyers.
